Hello everyone, good afternoon on this Tuesday, September 24th, 2024. Got all your news for you right here in one place on this afternoon episode.
Bachelor at Caitlin Bristow explains why bachelor creator wasn't a fan of hers. Plus is Kat Williams, the modern day Nostradamus. He predicted the fall of Diddy and has more to say. Also, rapper T. I. receives a massive award of 71 million dollars in a intellectual property lawsuit, and Brett Favre announces he's been diagnosed with Parkinson's.
Emily D. Baker reacts to the Bachelorette Devin restraining order while on the Vile Files podcast, what she thinks happened as a lawyer, plus a nostalgic update on the making of the movie Titanic. I got all these stories and more coming up next on The Rush. Alright, let's start with our most interesting and least important story.
That is, Kate Winslet reveals, The water in Titanic's infamous door scene was only waist high. Leo DiCaprio was kneeling down. Alright, I just ruined Titanic. You know, they did not film it in North, in the North Atlantic, in the cold water. It was in a pool, uh, which I'm sure most people already knew this, but it's still kind of like takes away that, uh, you know, feeling of being in the moment there.
She said, first of all, I was regularly like, can I just go for a pee? And then I get up, get off the door. Walk to the edge of the tank, sort of 20 feet away. And I literally have to fling my leg over and climb up and come and get back on the door again. It's terrible anyway. Yeah. So it was waist high Leo.
I'm afraid to say it was kneeling down. I shouldn't be saying anyways, Jimmy Cameron's going to be ringing me. Uh, actually the thing that was amazing about the edges of the tank was it was an infinity tank. So there was constant water rushing and you could hear the constant sounds of water. So I guess you would have to get up and go pee.
And in my. Thought with that is not to be kind of, you know, weird. 'cause I've never been in this situation where I've worked for James Cameron, but can you just pee in the pool? I mean, come on. Can you just pee in the tank? I don't know. What do I know? Um, you know, maybe I'll never be invited to a pool again.
Look, there's one thing if you don't pee in your neighbor's pool when you're swimming in it, but this is a giant tank, you think it would be fine, right? Uh, what do I know? You got to get the shot. Got to do anything you can to get the shot. You know, back in the day I was on a, uh, some TV show. I won't even say what it was.
And there was a flashback scene. You probably never even heard of the show. And I played a, like a skipper, like a, I don't even know what it's called. Someone who works on in a submarine, but it was like, you know, this is like a world war two, like era submarine. And we had to stand on top of the submarine.
And. And it was filmed on a green screen, but they have the wind blowing. And then the water, they have the rain blowing sideways. It was so freezing because even though the water itself wasn't cold, it would just, the, the wind, the wind machines would just blow it right off you anyway. Um, they always say never work with kids and never work with water when it comes to movies.
And now, you know why. All right. What do we, we got a lot of different stories to get to. Let's start with BMAC Jones, Brandon Jones. He explained. Uh, of course, why he went on Clayton Eckert's podcast. We already covered this on the YouTube today, but just to catch you guys up, he explained what took him so long to share his side of the story well over a year after his breakup.
Honestly, full transparency, because I was so angry and mad at what I heard to the point to where, you know, I just wanted to take a step back. And before I answered with aggression and anger, I wanted to just get my mind right. So. Continuous amounts of therapy, trusting in God, having the support system that I have.
Yeah. I wanted to handle something with that, with delicacy and care and respect. And so, you know, I just waited until I was able to do so. So yeah. Oh, and then the next question was, can you tell us about these videos? That being the videos she, his ex Serene claimed she would use against him. Yeah. We're going to take a poll.
Um, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, we'll take a poll. I hate it when people have music on in the background. It just kills my audio. Don't you know that Brandon? Turn your TV off. So he said he's going to take a poll about whether he should talk about the videos or not. And over 90 percent of people said talk about it.
And he said he'll have to get into it in another video. So we wait with bated breath to hear what Brandon has to say about these videos. All right. Here is a clip of Caitlin Bristow on the. Talking a big game podcast, discussing about how hard she had to fight to not only get on the bachelorette, but on dancing with the stars stars, but there was some drama that went along with that.
From what I understand, it was the man that created the bachelor franchise. I know he didn't like me from the get go and he made it very obvious and he didn't want me to be the bachelorette. And then the season did well, but it was a dream of mine to go on dancing with the stars. I just don't want, uh, people coming on my show who want fame.
He now look in defense of Caitlin. She is a unique personality to cast on the show. Now, in hindsight, she did great, right? But she is unique to use the Titanic metaphor. You know how they've got the upper class people that Dance the slow Viennese waltz and they are all dressed up and they're on one level.
And then Leo DiCaprio takes Kate Winslet to the fun people dancing on the tables, the Irish drunks that are in the lower level, having a good time. Caitlin Bristow rightfully. And I mean this respectfully belongs on the dancing on the tables with the Irish people. That's where she belongs. And Hey, that's more fun.
That's where you need to be. The show tries to portray this air of elegance. It's like they want some debutante and, uh, you know, some pageant queen who's going to be perfect. No offense, but kind of like a Hannah Brown type, but not that, um, I think that's of any offense. That's just the type that Hannah Brown is.
Um, well, although she did create a ton of tea, uh, from her season, but Caitlin, you know, she's, she's just a different choice. Always had this belief that I wanted to get famous from his show. This is another reason why I knew he didn't like me is because he's had like four of his past bachelors go on dancing with the stars.
I was. over the moon excited and then he took it away from me. So what does that mean when you say took it away from you? I said, dancing is a passion of mine. And he said, well, Sean should be your only passion right now, which is the guy that I chose to get engaged to off the show. And I asked him if he had more than one passion in life.
And he said, I'm not, he said, I'm not talking about this, Caitlin. And then he hung up on me. There it is. All right. But of course, Caitlin ended up going on Dancing with the Stars. It's just, it's too bad she had to go on the sort of pandemic season where there wasn't an audience. If there ever is an all star season, I fully expect she'll be a part of it.
And I look forward to that. All right. How about a little Diddy update? Kat Williams sends warning to Sean Diddy Combs inner circle after arrest. He's about to snitch on everybody. Now, Whenever there's some like real tea that involves the police and the arrests and things like that, that's the big question.
You know, you think of this when someone gets arrested politically, like will they rat other people out? Will they do a plea deal in order to receive less time? The problem with Sean Combs is like, I don't know how ratting anyone else out would help him. I mean, he's kind of like the top dog in the whole scenario.
What's very interesting with Cat Williams is listen, Cat Williams is an interesting guy. He's a. Absolutely hilarious stand up comedian. There's nobody else like him. And this all stemmed from a podcast that premiered January 3rd, 2024. It's got 75 plus million views on YouTube. It's probably the most watched podcast ever, to be quite honest.
It's the club Shay Shay podcast, where he goes on and, and describes how 2024 is going to be the year where people get Busted. And in hindsight, it's aged really, really well. Have a listen. I don't care nothing about the other side. Period. Period. All of these, uh, big deviance is all catching hell in 2024.
It's up for all of them. It don't matter if you diddy or whoever you is, TG Jakes, any of them, the, all, every, all lies will be exposed. That's all. And, and, and anyone who takes that the wrong way, know why they take it the wrong way. And then they take a sip of their whiskey. I mean, look, no, no lies spoken so far.
He says all the truth is going to surface and here we are. And it's like, all right, I guess we chose violence in 2024 and by violence, I mean, it's good that did he's being exposed. Now look, he'll have his day in court. If there's a way to hit for him to sort of, um, explain all of the things that went down.
So be it. But, you know, one. It's, it's, it's kind of, I mean, in its own way, cause you can't compare them because they're very different. It's kind of like a Weinstein scenario where once one person calls him out and kind of like a Cosby scenario, when one person calls him out, other people feel brave enough to come forward.
And, you know, I guess the cynical look is, Oh, are people doing this for money? But listen, that doesn't explain how heartbreaking it must be to have to relive your story, your trauma. And my guess is. That a lot of these accusations coming out about, did he have merit? They have merit because listen, this, I mean, from all that's come out again, innocent until proven guilty in the court.
But from all that's come out in the, in the court of public opinion, it ain't looking good for him. And in another Diddy report, I guess a lot of celebrities are afraid to speak out. Fox News posted this, Diddy sex trafficking probe. Hollywood stars are scared to death to speak out. Experts say Sean Combs was ordered held without bail after his arrest on multiple sex crime charges.
So just to see kind of how serious they're taking it, they're now comparing it to Jeffrey Epstein. Now, new reports are drawing comparisons between Combs and Jeffrey Epstein, who served time for trafficking dozens of young girls before his death. The New York Post quoting a DHS agent who helped search Combs Miami home as saying, in my opinion, he's as bad as Jeffrey Epstein.
And attorney David Gelman telling Fox News, quote, this. is this is like Epstein 2. 0. You have a guy who is extremely rich and extremely powerful, being charged with allegations that are inhumane. Now Combs is defense though, maintaining the rapper's innocence, calling his current jail conditions inhumane.
Watch this. The fight continues We're not we're we're not we're not giving up by a long shot. I told mr. Combs I'm gonna try and get his case to trial as quickly as possible I'm gonna try and minimize the amount of time he spends in very very difficult and I believe inhumane Housing conditions inhumane housing conditions.
All right, let's cut it off there. I mean look Is it like the Epstein case in that Epstein, I believe, had a lot of video evidence that a lot of powerful public people didn't want out there. And if this is a similar case, yeah. I mean, we'll have to see what other charges come, who else could be charged.
It's for sure going to be a story that exists on our radar for a long time. All right. We'll be back with more content right after this. Emily D. Baker is a lawyer and YouTuber and she was on Nick Viall's Viall Files podcast to discuss Bachelor at Star Devin and the restraining order that he had placed against him, at least a temporary restraining order.
And the question was, how could the Bachelor producers have let this all happen? And she offered some of her thoughts about, you know, how sometimes in family court, uh, records can get sealed. Like someone like Devin, could he have in any way influenced the difficulty of how something like this is searched or found?
Not necessarily. It really depends on how the court system itself reports it. Family courts can be difficult to get information out of because they deal with child custody. They deal a lot with child placement, kids that are taken out of the home. You can deal with very sensitive topics that you don't necessarily need to be searchable.
And then when court records are sealed, You can often see that something happened, but can't see what happened. So the fact that the affidavits even out there, even though it had been a sealed record, those are normally things you can't access and see the fact that there was a TRO and then it was dismissed should be something that you can see, but it really just depends on how that one jurisdiction reports it.
And if they report it, and how old it is, because some of the court systems weren't digital until very recently. I mean, it sounds so ridiculous, but having covered the Laura Owens Clayton Eckerd case, we, I realized that, yeah, court systems don't necessarily talk to each other. You need to almost know what you're looking for.
So, the fact that Bachelor producers didn't find anything on, uh, Devin, might not mean that they had sinister motivations or that they were sloppy. It might just mean that they didn't know where to look. And I'm, I'm kind of looking at background checks, kind of like credit checks where a credit check pulls your information based on different credit agencies.
And then, uh, companies like, uh, you know, that you have debt on will, will report if you, um, you know, were late on payments and whatnot, and it all kind of works together. Uh, but in the court system, yeah, every jurisdiction has a different way to do things. So it's really scary to think that someone could have been.
violent in the past, had it either expunged or sealed, uh, because it's in the family court. And that's just, that's just how it works sometimes. And then go on a show where they're supposed to be intimate and private with others. So pretty scary stuff, but also good to hear from a professional like Emily Baker discuss, um, in a more nuanced way, what might've gone down.
All right, Brett Favre. Uh, former Packers quarterback, who of course has had some off field issues, namely, uh, sending his, uh, dick photo. I don't know. I was going to call it a DP, a dick pic to a, who is now, you know, to a, um, a, I believe it jets. Um, uh, reporter, how did he not get canceled? That was probably like right before the me too movement kind of came about, but he was kind of on the, he was on the outs as far as, uh, no, I mean, listen, no one thought Brett Favre was a standup guy.
Well, now he says he has Parkinson's while discussing, um, uh, well, announcing it during a Capitol Hill hearing. Have a listen. Sadly, I also lost an investment in a company that I believed was developing a breakthrough concussion drug. I thought would help others and I'm sure you'll understand why it's too late for me because I've recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's.
This is also a cause dear to my heart. Recently, the doctor running the company pleaded guilty to taking TANF money for his own use. I believe that I got swept up in a civil lawsuit Shad White, an ambitious public official. who decided to tarnished my reputation to try to advance his own political career.
So this is really interesting. So he made a revelation that he had Parkinson's, which again, is very sad. But this story that he's talking about is one we discussed last year, Brett Favre in the Mississippi welfare case explained. Now, Mississippi is one of the worst States when it comes to welfare, you know, socialized help for people that need it.
There's a lot of poor people. Well, it's not. The Hall of Fame quarterback was one of 38 defendants named in a civil lawsuit filed by Mississippi Department of Human Resources seeking to recoup Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, TANF, TANF, funds that were diverted to the rich and powerful. So, Again, it's complicated, and I don't know if the case is still ongoing, but Brett Favre was paid 1.
1 million from TANF funds for speeches the auditor says Favre never made. He eventually paid the money back, but the auditor demanded he also pay 228, 000 in interest. Prevacus. A company developing a concussion drug in which Favre was the top outside investor and stockholder also received these funds.
So eight people were indicted, six of whom pled guilty for their involvement. Brett Favre also, look, he denied charges of wrongdoing and has not been criminally charged. A federal judge, a judge filed a suppression order limiting pretrial publicity until the case, which has 47 defendants, goes to trial. Or is resolved.
This was back from a year ago. I don't know what happened with the case, uh, you know, innocent till proven guilty, but at the same time, I guess at the very least, you get to see the inner workings of how money is spent between elites. So Brett Favre donated his own money to help raise funds for a new volleyball facility at his alma mater, university of Southern Mississippi.
But he also pushed state officials. to use funding during the time his daughter was on the team. The university's athletic foundation received 5 million in funds. Again, these are funds meant to help poor people and he helped them get a new stadium. So maybe he's not guilty of some of the other, uh, sort of charges, but in the very least just goes to show powerful people using their influence.
to help their own. Um, and, uh, that's not a good thing, but still with all that said, sad to hear Brett Favre is, or has Parkinson's. How much of it do we know about is due to the concussions he received. I mean, he took a lot of hits in his day. They call them a gun slinger, which is, you know, a term, you know, these old guys that just kept, I mean, if he played in today's world, he probably would have been benched half the time.
You know, now there's more concussion protocol. But even if you look at the Dolphins quarterback, uh, Tua Tagalovoa, we've discussed how he's had several really, really bad concussions and he's considering going to play again. He's only 25 years old. What's his body going to look like in 30 years when he's Brett Favre's age?
That's the problem with a lot of these brain injuries. It's not a big deal. the skin where you know something's broken. A lot of times like CTE, you don't even know you had it until you're dead. So they can open up the skull. So that's just a scary, scary thought. Well, uh, in other news here, we've got TI the rapper and tiny score a 71 million award in court.
And they say, don't steal our intellectual property. They were victorious in their lawsuit against toy company MGA Entertainment. If the award stands, the couple will be a whole lot richer as a result. Yeah, I mean, look, it's nice to get a 71 million, uh, award, but, uh, knowing what we know about the court system, does that mean the toy company can even afford to pay that?
Let's have a listen to what, um, Tiny had to say. We did this for the city. We did this for the culture. Um, you know, and, um, it was a fight, you know what I'm saying, it was a hell of a fight. This fight been started in, uh, 2020 and it's now 24. And so I guess what happened was the, the toy company misappropriated the name, image, and likeness of the all female group that ti in Tiny formed in 2009.
And, um, we couldn't be more happy. Man. I wanted to come on here. I honestly wanted to come on here to say we wanted to thank the jurors for like. Just seeing us through this, man, and just believing in what we said, and they, they heard our story, and they knew we wouldn't lie. Okay. So that's interesting. I mean, good for them.
I, I, I, I wouldn't be celebrating too much until the check clears, but either way, Uh, look, uh, yeah, intellectual property. This is going to be a big deal with AI, right? Using someone else's likeness, you know? So the, this toy company literally used, I guess, the images in seven different dolls that were identical to them.
And I guess you can't do that without permission. All right. I got some more stories to get to. We'll be back with more right after this. Oh, right. Bad news for my wife here. Um, marital mansion for Ben Affleck and JLo goes into escrow and in the final stages of hashing out the property settlement in their divorce, they almost had a lot of newfound cash to divide up because TMZ has learned their marital house.
had a buyer. You know, I was trying to buy this home for Tasha, you know, surprise her. Now that we're a big podcast, you know, I figured maybe the 64 million home, I figured maybe they would accept my offer of, uh, you know, that's 63, 700, 000 less than asking, but no, they did not take it. The source with direct knowledge told TMZ, a couple from New Jersey fell in love with the 38, 000 square foot Beverly Hills area home and made a 64 million offer, which was accepted.
The couple had a death in the family and pulled out of escrow, but sources say they are still interested in the property. At 64 million, Ben and J Lo are still underwater. They paid 61 million for the house back in May of 2023 and spent several million on renovations. They will have to pay a hefty fee to the realtors and then a 5.
25 percent mansion tax. Guys, look, a lot of people You know, go, Oh, California. They're too woke. They're too this, they're too, that are too liberal, but listen, I love that they have a mansion tax. I'm sorry. If you can afford a 64 million mansion, you can pay a 5. 25 percent mansion tax on it. If I can ever afford a 50 million mansion, don't let me complain about the 5 percent mansion tax.
There's so many people living on the streets that are just trying to get their life in order after maybe. pain meds addiction because pharmacies lied about what was addictive and not. So a lot of people fall on a lot of tough times out there. And if you can afford a 50 million mansion, I'm sorry. I take the stance that you can be taxed a little bit higher.
Oh, don't hate on me for that. And by the way, I got to tell you this. I don't even read the one star reviews that I get, but MAGA, some MAGA folks have started leaving me. I hate that my livelihood can be affected by some people that disagree with my opinion. Look, I share my opinions. I try to keep it fair.
I try my best. Of course, I'm going to have a bias. That's just the way it exists. Uh, but you don't have to give me a one star review, folks. You're taking food off my kid's plate. So anyway, if you enjoy what I do and haven't already, Make sure you're subscribed to the podcast. Share it with a like minded friend.
Tag me on Instagram and give it a five star review. So, Donald Trump was speaking about not liking Jimmy Fallon, and he demanded they bring back Johnny Carson, who, of course, is not alive. Here's what he had to say. That great. He's not very funny. Can you, that guy, those three guys, they're being blown away by Gutfeld, you know, Gutfeld totally.
And what he's referencing is late night TV. Um, Steve Colbert, Stephen Colbert, uh, Jimmy Fallon and, um, whoever the, I can't even remember who the other one is. Uh, but either way, and then you have on the conservative side, you really only have one late night option, which is Gutfeld. And I guess his ratings are better.
I don't watch any of it, to be honest. You remember that guy when I first ran? I was like 2015 thinking about running. I was gonna run. I went on his show, right? And he goes to tonight's show, which is dying. They're all dying. Where's Johnny Carson? Bring back Johnny. It made you appreciate, right Uncle Sam?
It made you appreciate the greatness of Johnny Carson and these guys. These three guys They're so bad, all three of them. Now, by the way, I'm sure Trump knew that Johnny Carson died 19 years ago. I'm sure he knew that. Um, uh, but hey, he was good at what he did. Uh, we live in a more niche down world. But I agree, you know, if you don't, if you have a certain political leaning, you know, and, you know, watch, watch whatever makes you happy.
You know what I mean? Vote for whoever makes you happy. Stop giving me one star reviews. And look, you can do whatever the hell you want, I just, I have so much respect for you that I wouldn't want to lie to you with my, my coverage and what I think, but I still try to be fair, you know, I still try my best.
All right, well, that takes us to the end today. Um, we got through Tuesday. We did it guys. Congratulations. Tomorrow's hump day. Next thing you know, it's Christmas, right? The season's over, right? Do your taxes and mail it in. That's all I can say. We'll be back in the morning. As always, I'm Dave Neal. This is The Rush.
