Happy Monday to you, September 23rd. I got all your entertainment and pop culture news right here in one place on the morning rush.
I've got a recap of the wild interview Brandon Jones did with Clayton Echard claiming serene through her engagement ring at him. So that's great for some bachelor tea. And speaking of which, Bachelorette Rachel Rechia comments on how toxic bachelor nation men are. And we also have an update on RFK Jr.
bragging about the intimate moments. pictures he sent or sent to him from New York reporter. Uh, so speaking of toxic men and Chapel Roan explains her depression diagnosis and also dancing with a star bad boy. Maxim trimmer. Kofsky explains why he isn't going to judge Artem yet on his arrest. Plus I watched the pop star Academy, uh, on Netflix over the weekend, and I've got some strong opinions I need to get off my chest.
I've got all this and so much more coming up next on the morning rush. Well, you guys know me. I'm a big fan of Chappelle Roan. Well, she was diagnosed with severe depression after her meteoric rise to fame. Uh, she discussed it in an interview that just aired on Friday. She said, I went to a psychiatrist last week because I was like, I don't know what's going on.
She diagnosed me with severe depression, which I don't think, I didn't think I had because I'm not actually sick. Sad, the Pink Pony Club Songstress explained to the Guardian, but I have every symptom of someone who's severely depressed. Some of 26-year-old Ron's symptoms include brain fog, poor focus, forgetfulness, and as you put it, a very lackluster viewpoint.
Hey, look, I mean, this has gotta be very tough for performers, right? You receive such amazing highs from performing in front of audiences that just can't be sustainable. And of course, you know, we've. talked about her sort of reaction to the fame, uh, you know, telling fans to leave her alone and yelling at photographers.
I don't exactly hate, but I hate it. I hope she feels healthy, but I love that she's trying to set boundaries in a world that probably doesn't have, uh, that she doesn't have too much control over. We'll have more on pop news in a little bit as I'll talk about that new Netflix show But first married RFK jr.
Bragged about intimate photos. He had of reporter Olivia Nuzzi amid sexting scandal You know cuz I was wondering she got put on leave I guess for sending him photos after she had interviewed him I mean, but look she lives she works for the New York magazine in New York You just send nude photos to each other, right?
That's like how you say hello in New York, right? Forget about it You just send a DP. I don't know. Maybe not Well, according to the Daily Beast, the 70 year old politician told his close friends about the pictures the political correspondent sent him, which led to the scandal blowing up. Oh, so someone snitched on old RFK Jr.
She was confronted about the images by the magazine's editor in chief during a one on one meeting on September 13th. Um, she, uh, he He asked, uh, her chief asked, uh, for her to explain what went down. And he learned Kennedy had been talking about the photos and telling people he was in a romantic relationship with her.
Um, I guess, uh, we're gonna have to find out what his wife has to say about this. Uh, so a new article came out. RFK Jr. Once had 43 mistresses in his cell phone, including now wife, Cheryl Hines. Look, I think mistress is the wrong word. They were ladies. that he was pursuing. I mean, he's a gentleman, you know, he's it.
No, I'm not going to stand up for him here. Uh, but look, uh, this report is so funny that this is in the news for a presidential candidate. Uh, this all kind of came out after, you know, uh, the Olivia Nuzzi story. Uh, but they say he's got people in every state. He's got them with different last names, depending on where he met them.
One's named like Jill Plain. Um, so it said he has a, he has a woman in every city and at least five in Toronto. Oh, he's beautiful. Busy in Toronto, uh, one of the women had the note airplane after her name, while another was denoted with farm and a third with teacher. I love it. It's a man of the people. He wants to remember where he met somebody.
He met her on a farm, took her to a plane. Either way. Uh, don't think we have to worry about him becoming president, but, uh, still the Kennedy legacy. See, and this is the problem, right? You have the JFK and the older Kennedys. They worked hard for their family name. And then these younger Kennedys, they just get to do whatever the hell they want with it.
Kind of like Puff Diddy's kids, right? Well, here's Ray J. He said he hung out at Puff Daddy's soirees. And he, I guess, didn't have a problem. Ray J, of course, I guess was a rapper, right? It's been a while. He was, uh, also in that sex tape with Kim Kardashian, right? I don't think they made any money off of that.
She certainly did in the long run. Uh, but either way, here is what was said by Ray J. Uh, after, you know, the sort of cancelling of Diddy. What did you make of what you heard and what did you ever see for yourself that gave you an opinion about what he was about? Well, um, for myself and I think a lot of other people in this industry, I mean, it's all a shock because, you know, we've never seen Uh, the stuff that's being said and the stuff that people are finding out, like I've never been in rooms that people are talking about and I never knew they existed.
And a lot of people in the industry can, can agree with me on that sense. Like you all want it to go and have a good time. Listen, there's been plenty of parties I've been to where I wasn't in the cocaine room. It doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but I understand he's kind of like saying, Hey, I had no idea, but it's like, come on, you know, you don't buy a thousand bottles of lube for no one to know about it.
No. And you want it to be inspired. You want it to go out and have a good time. And then you want it to go the next day to work and you want it to work hard in this good vibe, you know? And so. To see where we are now, um, I just think everybody is still trying to digest it. And all right, well, either way, it's not like, uh, Diddy wasn't known for his parties.
Another unearthed video from, I believe 2002 is Diddy speaking with Conan O'Brien on late night with Conan O'Brien explaining what his parties were like party. What's the ingredient? What is, what do you do to make just an amazing killer party, cause mine, I put out the cheese whiz, I put on the Paul Anka, no one comes, wrong move.
See ya. Doing the wrong things. Wrong thing. Okay. This is what you need to do. Um, Beautiful women, of course.
Beautiful women. Beautiful men for the ladies, of course. We need, um, alcohols. Right. Alcohols. Right. Not just one alcohol. Alcohols. Right, just a different blend. You need the ladies, you need the booze. You need, um, some water. For watering plants? No, no, I don't know if guys have noticed this, like, a lot of ladies Drink water at parties.
They just, you know, so you have, if you don't have what they need, they're going to leave. Right. Got to keep them there. Right. You need locks on the doors. Okay, this is sounding kind of dangerous now. Yep. And 22 years later, I wonder if that'll make it to the, uh, court's paperwork. We'll have to see as Diddy's about to be tried for some very serious crimes.
Well, you know, Other folks in the pop were a lot of pop stories today. Janet Jackson, um, I guess, uh, was called out for perpetuating a wild conspiracy theory. She said Kamala Harris isn't black and her dad's actually white. She was pushing this theory, uh, parroting claims that Donald Trump made about the VP a couple of months ago, claiming she's not black.
The music legend sat down for a chat with the guardian. Oh, the guardian's getting all the crazies, right? In response, Janet Jackson replies that she heard Kamala isn't actually black and instead she's She's Indian. Well look, she's both, right? Her dad's from Jamaica. Don't even get, these things don't even warrant a response.
But like, why? I don't understand. Uh, why this is even a conversation we're having, but hey, this is the world we live in. All right, I got a serious story coming up next. It's Maxim Chumakovsky discussing his fellow dancer Artem and why he needs to hear more of the facts. I'll have this story for you right after a quick word from our sponsor.
Alright, um, Artem was arrested, and his wife filed for divorce, he was arrested for domestic violence. Um, but we haven't heard him say anything or anything from the court papers. Maxim Tremakovsky is probably the most famous male dancer ever from Dancing with the Stars, and here's what he has to say.
Obviously Dancing with the Stars has been in the news because of Artem's arrest, um, obviously super sad situation, and you guys worked together. Have you spoken to him? Were you surprised? What, what were your thoughts when, when we broke the story? I, I wrote to him. I, I, I, I. Like texted him? Had a, yeah, I texted him.
The man that I know, you know, I know to be a very soft, kind, kind person. You know, beautiful person to know. Autumn, everyone I know around him, loves him the same way. Um, you know, I What was your, uh, text to him? It was just stay strong and if this is something that, you know, is on you, that it's on you, you're responsible for your actions.
You know, I There's a bunch of scenarios that we can play in our head. None of us were there. I wasn't there. I have no idea I don't want to judge. I don't even want to pose my opinion. Like I said, I just know the person I also know Nikki, you know, I wish them all the best. They have a young kid. We all in the same group of Families that know each other we know each other very well in terms of like we very tight We try to hang out with Val and I had a show in Napa for three months I flew with Nikki back and forth nine ten times with in LA You We went out to dinners, the three couples, Val, me, and, and, you know, and Artem, and, and our girls, and, you know, we just know each other like that.
I also know that having kids is tough. A lot of people are talking about how Artem is not on this season, this current season. People are wondering if he'll ever be back to Dancing with the Stars, especially in light of everything going on with him and Nikki. Do you Listen, there's no way. There's no way he's going to come back unless, unless, you know, the, some story comes out that this was all, uh, made up, which we don't believe it to be, uh, look, you, if you're someone like, um, uh, Maxim here, you're in a tough place because, you know, can you have friends that do bad things?
Well, clearly, you know, you never know what's going to happen. going on behind closed doors and a lot of abuse victims, you know, and until they come out and say it, you wouldn't even know in some cases. Uh, so we really don't know. We really don't know. Um, but I do think I do understand his idea of saying, I'm just going to hold off judgment.
Like, well, like I'm not the judge. You know, he's gonna go to court, they're gonna figure it out, I'm just gonna wait. Because, why put your name to something? Why endorse something, or why be against something when you don't have all the facts? So I totally understand that. You know, which is very tough to do in Bachelor Nation.
A lot of times, we watch a show go down and we don't really know exactly how it ends. Obviously the Artem story is completely different. The stakes are way higher. We're just transitioning into the Clayton Eckert interview of Brandon Jones. Now what's interesting about this, I'm going to do a real deep dive on today's YouTube.
I won't do that here, but I will play a clip. Clayton interviews, Brandon Jones. This is a. You know, kind of out of the blue because Brandon, uh, was, uh, you know, on Michelle Young's season of Bachelorette. Um, she dumped him. He was heartbroken, big time fan favorite, goes on Bachelor in Paradise, has this real, what looked like, fairy tale ending with Serene Russell, and then, of course, they end up breaking up.
Uh, video and photos were leaked to Reality Steve of Brandon dancing with someone at a club. And it was thought that that happened while he was still engaged. He's here on Clayton's podcast to say, no, that's not true at all. We were not engaged at that point. But not only that, he goes really deep into the relationship.
Again, these scenarios are really a, he said, she said, uh, he's sharing his Died for the first time and she's actually already responded and I believe posted a, she posted on Instagram a Taylor Swift lyric, um, which, uh, was kind of in order to shade him. Fans, I think, are kind of split on this because. Well, while he sounds very convincing when he tells his story on Instagram, in the comment section, you actually had Serene's brother commenting saying, Hey, you were abusive.
Now what that means and what type and all of that, I have no idea. It, I feel like this story is not going to get much closure unless both of them really spill the beans. Uh, but he did mention Brandon did that. She had threatened him with releasing all these videos of their fight that he initially said she recorded to show their therapist, it's messy folks.
At the very least it's messy. Here's what he had to say about the moment they broke up. It's very underwhelming. It's a typical breakup fight. This house is a mess. Like, you know what I mean? Like, like, I just need your help in cleaning whatever I can do to help you do that to do so. And it went from like that and then it spiked into a whole nother conflict and spiked into a whole nother conflict to the point where like at the end, like I'm sitting on the couch, she's screaming at me and I'm like yelling at her and then the relationship's over.
And she's throwing the ring at me, and I have that, and it's just like, yo, like, like, that shit's tough, dude. I mean, it's, it's a wild conversation. Those that are criticizing Clayton are really upset that he would platform Brandon here. I've always kind of been interested in the term platforming because, first of all, Clayton's podcast has 629 subscribers, okay, on YouTube.
So, The idea that he's platforming. Brandon, Brandon's got a quarter million Instagram followers. He's already got a platform. Um, they're, you know, Clayton's idea of the show is to just interview other men about their mental health issues. I think it's a good thing to talk about mental health issues. I think it's, it's, uh, the, the problem I think when you get into the bachelor world is the collateral damage.
The collateral damage of Brandon discussing his relationship means people are going to then look at Serene differently. But, with that said, there have been some crazy things that have come out. We know former producer, I've been on her podcast, Alana Noel, she actually claims that Serene was sending text messages to a producer, like showing off what out, what gym outfits she was wearing.
Again, is this cheating? No, it's like Wild 2024 gray area. But if Brandon was dancing with someone, and again, it's a big if, if he was dancing with somebody. And he's single while that looks bad optics and then serene sending a photo to their producer and violating his trust. You can see how toxic this relationship was, regardless of who was on the right side.
Um, but I will say a lot of people commented on the Instagram reel, which had all of the edited versions of the conversation, and they were more hateful towards Clayton and more hateful towards Brandon. The YouTube comments are more. Uh, gracious towards Brandon, and it makes you wonder, is it because the full full context is more believable or is it just easier for people to hate on short form social media?
I re I really don't know, but I find it very interesting and we're gonna get down to the bottom of it. I mean, he said that. Uh, he said that she threatened to go on, um, Kaitlyn Bristow's podcast and expose him. So now it makes you wonder now that he's out here sharing his side, will she come out with anything uglier?
You have to think if you're Brandon Jones in And your ex had something on you, like really, if it was, you would have to think of it as really bad, you would never go public and share a story because of that, like nuclear, nuclear bomb, they could blow off here. So because of that, I don't know if Serene's going to do or say much, but I find it very interesting in a time where we have all of this crazy stuff around Devin and there's just a lot of other real tea seeping out.
It's just very, very interesting. And speaking of avoiding these. Here's what Rachel Rekia had to say on um, I believe the podcast was called After Curfew. I like need this to be known to the public. This is big. The girls are in this and they're so serious. And the girls want to find someone, they want to settle down.
The men, they think they are, and as soon as they get this little taste of like, the DMs, Because women are watching this show, men aren't DMing me and watching the show. Even if they really like who they're with, they're getting the taste of this like, Oh, I can have anyone. All these girls are in my DMs.
And they are in this situation, I feel like Devin, he's probably getting these DMs and he's realizing like, Why would I, why would I be with Jen when I can be with anyone? Why would I settle? And then, Uh, the next bachelorette season happens, no one remembers any of you, and then that's when they start to like, crawl back.
Get away! You thought you had all these options, and now you're crawling back into my friend's DMs. To this day, it's like, all the women, we all go through the same thing with these bachelor boys. How funny. And if you see the bachelor boys On your dating apps. Run. Run. I mean, I love it. First of all, talking about projection, God bless Rachel Rekia, she truly is one of my favorites.
You know, whenever you generalize, it's like, you're not going to get it all right. Of course. I love to generalize. I love to generalize. Those bachelor boys are this way. But come on, really? I mean, I don't know the stats on which, on, on who gets, um, who settles down faster. I do believe, for the most part, women are probably more mature at their given age than men are, just because men are idiots.
I do understand that, but the, the women of The Bachelor get, Um, they get fame too. They start podcasts, they monetize their channel. They do their get ready with me's with each other. I mean, they monetize it in an own way, in their own way. So like, if the guys are out there doing Tik Tok videos and it's Andrew Spencer and you know, whoever, uh, you know, whoever's out there, uh, Greg Ripple, they're, you know, they're doing do si do ing on Tik Tok.
It's like, all right, well, they're playing the game too. I don't know. But I do think, you know, some of these guys, yeah, it's like, sure. If they were on the bachelor, they probably can meet girls pretty easily, but you know, it's not hard to meet girls. These like, they're all good looking already. Like you tell me, Logan, he's walking into a bar, six foot three.
You tell me he's not going to have a bunch of girls looking at him. I I'd be looking at him. You know what I mean? So anyway, I kind of reject the premise. Uh, but, uh, either way, I love a strong take. I really do. All right. I got a lot of great stories coming your way. Stick around. We'll be back with more right after this.
All right. This is a tick tock. I'm going to share with you, which completely reflects everything I've always said, which is that people judge you on very basic standards. Have a listen. 82 percent of our impressions of people are based on two traits, warmth, It's not how attractive you are, it's not how tall you are, it's not how rich you are, it's not how successful you are.
It's literally how fast can you signal, I'm a friend, trust, and you can rely on me. Or, one of the other. If you're super competent, you don't have to be a friend. And if you're super friendly, you don't have to be competent, you know? It's like, if you can thread the needle and be both, you'll be good out there.
Whether it's As a content creator or just in your general job, show an air of confidence, which is what competence is, right? Someone who's confidence confident because they have competence. Um, and also, you know, you gotta be likable. That's the world we live in, you know, at any, there's so many jobs out there that it's like, you're almost.
Uh, you know, you're more often hired, uh, not because of your skill set, but because you can fit in with the company culture and my audience here, I hope our company culture is one that is pretty fun. I hope we're competent. At least, uh, you know, if we're not, we'll be likable, you know, who's likable. The ladies of pop star Academy.
Oh my gosh. This, I guess this show came out on Netflix a month ago, but my wife and I found it this weekend and you ever have this with your partner where you'll watch like the first 10 seconds of a show here. And then, so if I see a show that I know my wife, Tasha will like, I'll like pause it and I'll look at her and I'll go.
Clear your schedule. And then we'll just watch like eight episodes in a row. Uh, but anyhow, Popstar Academy is basically like the making of a band, K pop style, but that takes place in Los Angeles, but they have contestants from all over the world, a lady from Latvia and Belarus, Australia, uh, you know, uh, Korea, China, they're all, all over the place.
Um, and anyhow, the show is interesting, but it. What it does is it shows you what conformity looks like. So on the show, Popstar Academy, they want everyone to look the perfect part. They want everyone to hit the same exact dance moves. It's so It's so formulaic and it's just, it's really sad actually, because I kind of see like the United States as like a country where we embrace that rock star who tells their boss to go F themselves.
Like, we embrace the um, sort of individuality that we have here in our country with our first amendment rights and you know, just, you know, just the idea that we can be entrepreneurial and work for ourselves and this and that. But Popstar Academy. Goes to show the brick wall that the music industry will place around talent and that, and whoever is in control of the talent.
So you have all these girls that would be really great, probably as their own performers, really forced to just become, you know, spend two years, training and dancing, probably not even getting paid just so that they can audition for these kind of creepy men who run, you know, the world of K pop. That's exactly, I mean, that's what it is.
And, and they, and you can, and again, I don't blame the girls. They're like, they're like. 14 to 18. The old girl, the old girl that they throw out was 19. Anyway, I'm watching this back. It's fascinating, but it was also kind of made me really angry. I wanted to give everyone a hug and say like, it'll be okay.
You can start a YouTube channel and a Patrion. You can work for yourself. I mean, look at Chapel Rowan. She didn't make it right away. She worked for 10 years and finally at the old age of 26, she, no, I'm kidding. Uh, but so you see these people who their whole life is around. You know, trying to make it on Popstar Academy.
And it left me with a very weird taste in my mouth, but I also recommend watching it. You can actually see how this show evolves throughout the season. Um, and I guess they made a band called Cat's Eye, which I know nothing about because I'm old. I'm like twice the age of their target demographic. So what do I know?
Anyhow, um, what else can we get into? I mean, it's pretty. been a, it's going to be a busy one today. I guess, I guess here's some news for you. Donald Trump says he's not planning to run for president in 2028. Um, the 45th president sat down for an interview with Cheryl Atkins Atkison on full measure, where she asked him point blank, if he sees a 2028 run in the future.
He says, no, I don't. I think that will be it. I don't see that at all. Hopefully we're going to be successful. Yeah. So, um, if he is successful, I don't know how that works, but he can't have a second term cause he already had his first one. Right. Um, that would be interesting if you could get a term, if you took four years off, like you can do eight years and then four years off and then eight years again.
No, that's probably a bad idea. Uh, don't do that. Anyhow. Um, yeah, so it's now or never four year old Donald DJ. We'll have to see how that all plays out. It's only a month plus away. The day can't come soon enough. I'm so sick of the election season. Aren't you? Oh, it's so annoying. Anyhow. Um, trust me when I say I'll have a lot to get to today on the YouTube channel, I will be covering more of the Clayton Eckerd interview with Brandon Jones.
And we'll try to compare what he said to what she said on different podcasts. And we'll, we'll try to get our way to the truth of the story. Although I don't think we're going to get too close. And I wish all of you guys a very, very happy day. Go rock it at work. You know where to find me. I'll be back for the afternoon rush home.
