Welcome to the Rush Hour. Your daily dose of pop culture for your Rush Hour ride. Buckle up and enjoy the drive with your host, stand up comedian, Dave Neal. Good morning, everybody. You might be mailing it in. I appreciate that. Take your time to a victory lap at work today, but I am not, I got a lot to get into on this morning's episode. We are going to talk about why tonight is your best. Chance to get lucky. I'm going to explain why. So listen to that. If you are single out there, I got you covered.
Plus I'll have my thoughts on the dancing with the stars finale. Wild episode last night, my favorite got robbed, although we're happy for the winner. We'll get into all of that. Plus Canadian officials are not happy with the proposed tariffs. On goods and imports coming from Canada to the U S I'll explain kind of what this all means, what everyone's saying about this, how this is going to affect your wallet and whatnot.
And now that Vanderpump has cleaned house, which cast members will move to the new spinoff show, the Valley season two, I got all those stories and so much more. It's all coming up next on the rush. Well, we learned yesterday that Vanderpump rules will have a season 12, but it'll have a full new cast except for Lisa Vanderpump.
Well, what's going to happen with all of the people you've grown to love and or hate? Well, as it turns out, deadline has reported that the valley season two, which is a spinoff from Vanderpump, which is a spinoff from real housewives, which is a spinoff from real world. Really, when you think about it, uh, someone corrected me yesterday and said, Oh, a Jersey shore is not the original reality show.
It's real world. I knew that. I messed up my apologies. Either way, the Valley Season 2 cast will feature Vanderpump Rules alum Sheena Shea, Tom Schwartz, and Lala Kent following Reboot. What's going on with Tom Sandoval? Tough week for him, right? He loses his, uh, bar and, uh, he loses his TV show. So, uh, I guess he's got the music career to fall back on.
He's got that going for him. Just fine. All right, here's the news. Everyone wants to know if you can, if you can, uh, teach somebody how to get laid, that's the only, that's the oldest business in the book, right? Six pack abs, lose weight, whatever. It's all about just trying to get laid. That's what it comes down to.
Well, I mean, look, don't take me, don't take my word for it. Just look at everything that's marketed out there. It's all about sex. Even, even me, I'm in it. Happy marriage and every, uh, old spice, uh, body wash I find is just like locations. They want you to hook up. It's like the Serengeti, you know, I, my new body wash is called the Harbard.
It smells like, you know, uh, French fries and seagulls. All right, here we are. Uh, tonight is Thanksgiving Eve. And the New York post made an article from 2016. So it was almost a decade ago, but it's still, it's, it holds up. And the article is titled Thanksgiving Eve is the best night to get lucky. Now you might think, cause here's the deal, right?
Valentine's day. If you're a single person and you go out to a bar on Valentine's day, you might have a good shot at getting lucky, but you know, there might be a lot of single people that are still on dates that night, but who is out on Thanksgiving Eve, but People that are back in their parents, back in their hometown.
They're dodging time to be out with their family. The bar is perfectly curated for people that will settle for you. Uh, so says this article, uh, in, in, in, actually for my millennial friends out there, they say this is prime time for millennials. Thanksgiving Eve falls in the middle of cuffing season. When Jen wires, uh, Jen wires, find a special someone to cuddle with as the temperature drops.
Now, will I be partying on Thanksgiving Eve tonight? No, of course not. You know what I'll be doing? Preparing my Thanksgiving episode where I read the Thanksgiving proclamation. That's right. I'll be here for you on Thanksgiving. A lot of people are still driving to and fro. So, uh, I won't have double episodes, but I will have a good episode for you where I share with you all that I'm grateful for.
Actually, I actually really enjoy doing that. A lot of people say, Dave, don't work on holidays. I really enjoy my Thanksgiving episode because I get to make a list and tell So, uh, I'm thankful for, but I'll also talk about some other things that are going on in life. It'll kind of be like a state of the day of state of the rush hour.
So definitely stick around for that. I know it's one of those weeks where people aren't really working as much. So the downloads might be lower, but like I said, I'm here for you guys. I'll I'm sticking around. Uh, well, I'll actually be driving. Uh, later today, I'll be driving to, uh, Northern Kentucky, AKA the Cincinnati area, uh, for, uh, my in laws I'll be with them.
So, you know, I'll be carbo loading up on Thanksgiving. I'm bringing the cranberry sauce. So if the Thanksgiving turkey sucks, at least it'll be smothered in the sugary goodness of a good old cranberry. Uh, anyhow, let's move on to some other content here. Speaking of cuffing season, Josie, uh, Josie, is her name?
Josie Canseco, Jose Canseco's daughter is named Josie Canseco. She gives a cryptic response when asked about Jonny Manziel relationship says focusing on family right now. Uh, she responded cryptically when she was asked whether she'd be spending the upcoming holidays with a special someone focusing on family.
Family for sure is just a priority. The model who went Instagram official with boyfriend Jonny Manziel in the spring told page six at the groves annual tree lighting celebration in LA. Holidays get tough for some people. That's the one time I like to bring my family together and make sure everyone is focused on love, family, friends, relationships, everything.
I just want to keep it as close as possible. All right. No mention of Johnny. So who knows? Uh, of course he was the former NFL star. We say star lightly kind of fizzled out there, had his addictions, but, uh, has seemed to be on the up and up and she's the daughter of a baseball legend, Jose Canseco. So will they last a time?
We'll tell, but not a, not a good look when. The response to that is focusing on family. Yeah, not a good look indeed. All right. I'm going to be focusing on sharing all the news with you. How about this story? We've got Rob Gronkowski, just obviously, obviously an NFL legend, but he's really kind of like the Forrest Gump of the NFL.
Like he just kind of stumbles upon success here. He explains how he got lucky investing in Apple stock. I would go with, I bought my first stock ever was the Apple stock. The guy actually who built my house in Foxboro, uh, he told me, Hey, buy Apple stock. I'm telling you, that's where it's at. You know, I never been involved in stocks and really didn't know how stocks work.
So I was like, all right, let me, let me do this, man. And, uh, I was like, I I'm going to go big. I'm going to do obviously this just fits. Along the lines of just me being myself, I'm going to put 69, 000 in the apple stock, and this was like 2014. So I call it my financial advisor. My put 69, 000 in an apple, you know, of my own money with no advice.
Like this is just from the guy who built my house. Uh, you know, here, here in the New England area. So then all of a sudden I forgot about it. It's like two and a half years later and the stock is worth like 250, 000. So I sell off the portion of, uh, the 69, 000 I bought in. And I have now to this date, I have over 600, 000 in Apple stock, all because.
Of the investment I made in 2014, having no idea what I was doing, but just listening to the, to the guy that, to the, um, to the, to the man that built my house here. There it is. Gronkowski, you know, he's giving you stock advice here. He just prints money, 69, 000. And he just, Turns into a lot of money. And for those of us that did not invest in Apple, when we should have fun story, what else can you say about that?
Well, I want you guys to invest in our audience and I'm going to tell you how to do just that. We have our single parent wishlist, which we're going to be doing. I need more single parents out there that we can help. I know our community is big. It's vast. It's generous, but I was raised by a single mom and we want to give back to single moms, maybe single dads that are out there during this Christmas season.
I've got a link. To the submission list, there's a very brief and easy way to submit, to get on our list, to be featured as one of our 12 or more, uh, Christmas wishlists. And what we'll do is we'll tell your story, you know, you don't have to give us any personal details and, um, hopefully we'll be able to raise some money and buy some presents for your kids.
So they have a fun Christmas ahead because that's, what's important in the Christmas season is that the kids have that Christmas spirit and, uh, we have a lot of, uh, community here that's willing. link to, uh, donate their hard earned money to help others kind of have that joy in life. Again, there'll be a link in the description of this podcast where you can submit to the single parent wishlist.
We want to send a shout out to Denise. She's the philanthropy chair that puts all this together. so much for all the. Time you put in, because obviously like she'll tell you working with me, my head's all over the place. I got a million different things going on. So it's so nice to have the community come together during a very special time.
And again, looking forward to hearing the stories of those of you out there that can use our help. We are here. Don't be afraid to submit link in the description. All right. We got a lot of content coming your way, so stick around. We'll be back right after this. Well, last night was the finale of dancing with the stars.
Bachelor Joey, one first bachelor to win. We've seen bachelorettes win. Uh, who's one Gabby, uh, charity, charity, when, uh, I mean, Caitlin Bristowe, Hannah Brown, a lot of either they win or they're finalists, but the bachelors, we've never seen this before. Grocery store, Joe, I mean, he was voted out as quickly as could be right.
So anyway, congratulations to him. But I got to say, I thought Chandler got robbed. I'm surprised Chandler was fantastic if you watch Dancing with the Stars. Maybe she didn't get the vote in part because she was kind of a dancer and like in her younger days. I don't really know. I mean, Joey was fantastic.
Stephen Nedorazik was unbelievable in his freestyle. He did a pommel horse freestyle. It was full of tricks, just incredible stuff. Joey actually had an underwhelming freestyle. He did like a tennis thing. It just didn't really have much heart to it versus Ilona, the rugby player. She had a. Fantastic freestyle where she tackled somebody.
She had a sequin rugby ball. I mean, just absolutely great stuff. Uh, you know, it was, it was a blast. I mean, it was three hours long. It was too long, but I thought it was fantastic. Fantastic finale. The talent is so great to see them progress from some of these contestants having never danced before. And in Joey's case, I mean, he did a great job.
He had a great coach. She had great choreography for him. So they'll be on tour. Steven Nadorozik is going to be. Uh, hosting or the dancing with the stars tour. And then there'll be some of the contestants on the show. Uh, Jen Tran, uh, uh, she, uh, performed a quick dance, uh, with her partner, Sasha, uh, are they together?
Are they going to hard launch their relationship? They're making it seem like they're actually together. So that's quite the showmance. Will it last now that the season's over? Uh, only time will tell, but there's your dancing with the stars update. I'll have more on this on today's YouTube. Are you guys okay?
If we get weird for a second. Is that all right? Do I have your consent to get weird? I like to include a little UFO talk every once in a while. And we've got Steve O from Jackass interviewing Tom DeLonge from Blink182 regarding UFOs. Are they inter dimensional? Have a listen. What's the significance of UFOs?
Number one, it's not what you think it is. It's not coming from other planets. The evidence doesn't suggest that. Inter dimensional. Yes. And the reason is because time is parallel, which means everything in the past and the future is existing in this moment, but within different frequencies, a civilization that's at the end of their technological cycle could build a submarine that changes its voltage and materializes in that same location, just into our timeline.
And so there's a consciousness aspect to this. Everything you see is one band of frequencies. The highest frequency is light unified mind. The lowest frequency would be blackness and physical matter somewhere right in the middle. So you have the ability to tune up higher, tune down lower. What it means also is that your brain.
Is what's called a transducer. You're an antenna. So you create matter. And when you think something, it creates it. It's, and you are not, you're not reactionary to your environment. You're actually proactive and you just don't know it. All right. So there was a lot there. Does anyone feel high after listening to that?
Now, look, I don't know exactly what I believe, but. He could, first of all, he could be wrong about the UFO thing for all I know, but I think he's right about energy. I think energy exists. You know, when we die, our soul kind of goes away and then we sort of decompose back into this earth. What the hell does that mean?
You know what I mean? So as far as energy is concerned, how do we use our energy to be the best version of ourselves? That's the question. That's the age old question and I don't have the answers to it. All I can say is we, if we try to be kind and share love, I believe that love is one of the highest energies out there, if not the highest energy.
So if there's any hate or drama in your life, just avoid it by sharing love. Now, how does that, how does that deal? Like how does that deal in Thanksgiving Eve? Well, we're about to be handy hanging out with a lot of family. Family that you might've been fighting with on Facebook. And boy, when I hear of families that can't get along and they have like these deep wounds and they bring up the same things, they antagonize each other.
That's heartbreaking. Well, you don't have to take the bait for any situation when you hang it with family. Here is a tip or two about the power of silence. How do you respond to disrespect? A lot of silence. So often if you just wait 10 seconds, you're going to add distance between what they said and how you're going to respond.
They're saying this to get something out of you because in that moment, they're feeling something, whether it's a fear and insecurity, whatever it is, you're not going to deliver on that same plane that they are. So if somebody says something disrespectful, you give enough silence to make sure that it's a little awkward, and then you're going to say something to the effect of it.
That's below my standard for a response. All of a sudden, you're now making it clear that what you just said was beneath me. And I don't respond to things that are beneath me in that way. Damn! Use that at Thanksgiving Day dinner! That, uh, that is, that, that is beneath me. Uh, now please pass the biscuits. If you don't, pass the cranberry sauce.
That is not, but the cranberry sauce is not beneath me. Uh, the pillow's gonna be beneath me once I eat and get this tryptophan effect. By the way, I heard that the tryptophan in In, in a turkey doesn't actually make you sleepy. What makes you sleepy is eating all that pie, you lard. Uh, but either way, uh, what do I know?
Uh, I am excited for the pie. Oh, some good pecan pie. It's going to be a great Thanksgiving, but yeah, how we react is up to us. We can't give someone else the keys to our emotions. So enjoy Thanksgiving. And I, I, uh, I want to hear back from you guys. Try something a little different this Thanksgiving. Try to give, try to give yourself and your present self to the conversations you end up in.
You might have an aunt or an uncle or someone you disagree with that you don't see normally during the year. You might be stuck with them. You might be sitting next to a relative. You don't normally like ask them questions. How's your year going? What's what's going on. What's what's what's some, what's some things that you're grateful for.
That's what I love about Thanksgiving. It's about gratitude. It's about giving thanks for what we have. It's about. It's about enjoying the crop, the fruits of our labor. And we don't live in a time where all of us have to go harvest the corn. And, you know, our jobs are diversified. We're all over the place, but we get together before winter comes.
We get together for one last meaningful way to break bread with the people that we love, and I think we lose sight of that. I think social media divides us. It says, are you on this side or you're on that side? It's a, it's a like this. Don't like that. It's, it's, it's very, um, binary in that way, social media.
And, um, and that's not real life. Real life is understanding that you don't choose your family. They're the ones that you're given. And sometimes even the ones you don't like are there to help you expose the nasty inside of you. So I see life as a video game. If you don't solve the issues that you have in front of you, you'll just get them over and over, maybe in a different way.
So I, I really, I really do hope you guys take the, take, you know, get the most out of this, this, uh, dinner this weekend. And I really hope it goes well for you. Um, I'm going to be away from my, my family. I'll be with my wife's family, but I really hope I can take some of my own advice. Uh, all right, well, here we have Rudy Giuliani, uh, lashing out.
in court about the fact that he owes somebody 146 million in a defamation judgment. Here's what he had to say. The reality is I have no cash. It's all tied up. So right now, if I wanted to call a taxi cab, I can't do it. I don't have a credit card. I don't have a checking account. I have no place I can go take cash out except the little bit that I saved.
And it's getting down to almost nothing. This is a pure application of the persecution of Trump, me. Bannon, Navarro, Professor Eastman, on and on and on. 100 people. Now look, I don't know if that's true. I mean, Rudy Giuliani really doubled down on a lot of his lies. He was a response to allegations from attorneys for Ruby Freeman and Shea Moss, the former Georgia election workers Giuliani defamed.
While challenging the 2020 election result in the state, the lawyers for Freeman and Moss have said that Giuliani, a former federal prosecutor has not complied with court orders to turn over his assets to the payer. Yeah. I mean, he's got watches and cars and like, they're going to get it all. So I don't know, tough one for Rudy, but, uh, by the way, this is the perfect line.
Isn't this the perfect line to tell somebody, you know, you're like, you want to buy drinks for someone tonight, right before cuffing season, there's cute girls at the bar and then you just throw them this line. The reality is, I have no cash. It's like, sorry, ladies. I don't know. Buy me a slice of pizza. All right.
Well, that's a sad story for Giuliani, but also at the same time, it's like, you know, uh, the, you know, the results of your actions catching up to you. All right. Mark Cuban was on talk to a podcast and he talks about his most expensive purchase. So from being broke to being a billionaire, here it is. How really hit a billion dollars?
39. 39. 39. Hell yeah. Hell yeah, it was right. What's the craziest thing you've bought? Um, two jets. I knew it. I knew it. I was telling y'all, one of you, I think it was Johnny. I was like, he's gonna say a jet or something. Yeah. I just know that. Yeah. Because like, time is like the one thing you can't get back.
Yeah. You know, there's no amount of money I can pay to be 21 years old again. That's true. And just every, every day, even though People think I act that way sometimes, but, um, just every day I can save myself time. Mm-Hmm, and pick up time, you know, and work on my own time. By the way, the environmentalists are not happy, right?
You know, here he is punching a hole in the ozone, but he makes it to brunch in time. Like when I sold that first company, I, I didn't wear a watch again until I got an iWatch for workouts, you know, because. I always felt like if I wore a watch, I had to be on somebody else's time. You're onto something here.
You are. What was the first purchase you made when you made money? I got granny a new vacuum cleaner. So, uh, the Hawke Tua girl, Haley Welch says the first big purchase she made was she got her granny a new vacuum cleaner with a light on it. So there it is. The difference when billionaires to viral, uh, Tennesseans.
I look, I love, I love the Haley Welch podcast. Talk to her. I think it's garbage though. I think they're really not good at what they do, but I think they're getting better. And I think that's what matters. You know, they're just, uh, you know, they're, they're doing the thing, right? You know, perfection is the enemy of good.
So we're happy that they're doing the thing. All right. We got more content coming on, uh, coming your way. I'm doing my thing. We'll be back with more next. All right. Speaking of Thanksgiving, we're sharing advice on how to handle your relatives and how they can handle you. Hey, don't think that you're not a large pill to swallow looking at you, Nicole.
I know you're out there being a big diva when you go home to your family, you know, coming back from the big city, trying to tell everybody about yoga and breath work. I see what you're doing out there. Either way. Here we have Lewis house. Uh, talking to the holistic psychologist on how to deal with emotionally immature parents.
That's right. We got him. Here is his thought and tip for you guys this holiday. A child who is now an adult still has emotionally immature parents. How does that child, as an adult, navigate their emotionally immature parents? Again, I think having the awareness of, right, your parent, whatever developmental stage they're in, in terms of their relationship with their emotions.
Can be very healing for a lot of us because what we once personalized for me, my mom's inability to be emotionally attuned to me or for someone else, their dad's explosive or mom's explosive behaviors. There was a developmental time where our brain couldn't zoom out and understand that, right? This was just a byproduct of a dysregulated, emotionally immature individual.
It has nothing to do with you having that awareness. I think for a lot of us, because there was a time where we couldn't. Zoom out and we personalized all of it. We were the cause of our parents absence or explosivity or whatever it was. So in adulthood, there's still that wounded part of us that feels unworthy of having needs, unworthy of being connected to, or of having a loving, attuned parent.
And that, that part still lives. When, you know, look, we're all wounded, right? I mean, maybe this is why you find me bearable to listen to because I talk about my own wounds, but when it comes down to it, you know, our parents tried the best that they could. Their parents tried the best that they could. And, you know, we're just a few generations away from world wars where, you know, and our parents grew up and parented us before the internet really came out.
So, you know, everyone tried their best, but boy, you know, parents always find a way to mess you up in one way or another. So again, just a reminder, we'll give grace this holiday season. Now that you don't live in the house, you realize, Oh, maybe I'm not the root of all of the issues my parents had. Maybe this is on them.
And the truth is, do you guys feel the same way? I feel like as my mom gets older, my parents get older, that their ADHD is getting worse. Maybe it's the lead poisoning. I don't know. But just a reminder, be calm, be patient out there. All right. Well. We have a few stories that involve the tariffs coming up, and I wanted to cover this just because I try to save the politically driven stuff for the end of the podcast.
But it's interesting because a lot of people are saying these tariffs could boost, you know, really, really inflate the cost of goods out there. Here is what they're saying in England, across the, uh, the big pond. The United States of America was founded off the back of a protest on imports taxes. The British parliament wanted to put a 3 percent tariff in effect, an import tax on tea, and in Boston they were so, so irate about this import tariff being placed on them, they threw the tea into the sea in the harbour and started a revolution.
And now we're at the state where the president of the United States wants to impose taxes not just on tea, but on everything else. Yep. Yep. Well, Hey, leave us alone. This is our country. We'll do what we want. Now the Canadians aren't happy. The Canadians are not happy. I've got two different Canadian officials.
I'm going to share their thoughts on a possible 25 percent tariff coming in from Canada to the U S. And again, these tariffs, these taxes will be paid for in one way or another by the consumer, which is us Americans. So this isn't necessarily. Penalizing the other countries, although it could start a tariff war where they then put tariffs on our goods and it just could get nasty, but tariff really is the new word of the year.
Here's deputy prime minister, uh, saying why Trump needs Canada. The fact is we need them and they also need us. Canada is the largest market for the U S in the world. Larger than China, Japan, the UK, and France combined. Canada's got a lot of oil. They got a lot of energy. And when global warming hits, they're going to have a lot of nice property.
It's going to be the Bahamas up there. It is also the case that the things we sell to the United States are the things they really need. We sell them oil. We sell them electricity. We sell them critical minerals and metals. The energy the United States imports from Canada is more important today than ever.
This is a moment when Canada needs to be united, we need to be strong, and we need to be smart. There are significant challenges, we know that. We also know that there are real opportunities, and we know that. That by working together. Canada can be successful. All right. Well, it looks like we've got to build some windmills cause they're going to be not giving us, I mean, this is true, right?
If you're in the Midwest or, you know, in some of the, some of those states there, you're getting your energy from the North, of course, when you live, uh, you know, and we get, we're getting, you know, most of our imports, as far as agriculture goes, comes from Mexico. So what's this going to mean? Well, I guess all the Canadians are uniting Ontario prime minister, Doug Ford, Says a 25 percent tariff on Canadian goods proposed, uh, by President elect Trump is akin to a family member stabbing you right in the heart.
Say it ain't so, Bruteau. Have a listen. I found his comments unfair. I found them insulting. It's like a family member stabbing you right in the heart. I spent a lot of time in the U. S. And I have yet to talk to one American that has any issue with this. Oh boy, we've lost the friendly Canadians of the North.
Oh, you know, it's, you ever have that friend that you disappointed? There's nothing worse than disappointing a friend. You're like, Oh man, I'm not mad. I'm just disappointed. Take us back Canada. We want to be friends on Thanksgiving. I know you celebrate Thanksgiving on a different day. That's okay. Sorry that we, uh, we're doing the whole tariff thing.
Uh, well look, we're going to have to see how it all works out. You know, could there be a scenario where the tariffs are a good thing? I have no idea, not holding my breath on it, but all I know is I just started feeding my baby avocados and now the prices of avocados are going to go up. Guacamole was already expensive enough.
You know what I mean, folks? Okay. Look, I got an afternoon episode coming up. I've got some other content for you.
