Welcome to the Rush Hour, your daily dose of pop culture for your rush hour ride. Buckle up and enjoy the drive with your host, stand up comedian, Dave Neal. Good morning, everybody. Happy Tuesday to you, November 26th, 2024. I got all of your pop culture news in one place. And with A few days before Thanksgiving, I've got some great tips on how to handle your family members over the holidays.

No, trust me, you're going to like this. And maybe this is some therapy for myself, but we can't choose our family, but we can learn how to set boundaries. Plus a Dancing with the Stars preview of tonight's finale episode. We may have a former couple back together, canoodling. We'll go over that. And an update on the strange story of missing Hawaii woman, Hannah Kobayashi.

And also another Kelsey family member has a podcast. Now the gravy train is rolling, get the money while you can. It's Jason Kelsey's wife. I'll share that trailer. Plus I've got kind of like a roundup update of what's going on in the Clayton Eckerd trial. A lot of little things, nothing huge, but maybe we'll dribble some tea in there.

All that and more coming up next on the rush. Well, let's start with some bachelor news. It looks like the romance might be over between a Tennessee Titans quarterback, Will Levis and the former bachelor contestant in bachelor in paradise contestant, Victoria Fuller. They've deleted Photos of each other from Instagram, which is too bad.

I mean, it's a gravy train being able to date somebody who was a professional athlete. You see, you see the Taylor Swift. I mean, sure. She gets to be a pop star. That's fun. But what's more fun than being a popstar? How about being the wife of a football player? You get to go to the games. They serve you a whole bunch of food and then you get to watch football.

I mean, it sounds great to me. Although you could argue that Travis Kelsey gets to go to pop concerts and gets treated like royalty. You know what? They both have it made. But who doesn't have a maid? Victoria Fuller and Will Levis. I guess this is their, uh, like, breakup announcement. Uh, there is no announcement.

It's just the fact that they've de tagged each other. That must be so sad. I don't know. I've never had a real breakup in this, like, social media age. But it must be very sad to, like, un tag and relive those things. Do you get a friend? Maybe you get a f friend who like does all that for you, that would be a good service.

I could create like, um, how to remove your ex or, you know, de smudge your ex from social media. Maybe that, maybe, maybe we could have pitch shark tank for that. I will have more on shark tank in a second, but first. Here it is. Kylie Kelsey. This is, uh, Travis, uh, Jason Kelsey's wife. Uh, I guess she's expecting her fourth baby now, and she's got a podcast coming out as we know, Travis Kelsey and Jason Kelsey got a hundred million dollar deal for their podcast.

So, Hey, why not start printing more money? Guys, I'm Kylie Kelsey and I am so excited to introduce my new show, Not Gonna Lie. Believe it or not, it took me a while to land on that name. Some of the others we almost went with, The Kylie Kelsey Show, Yet Another Kelsey Show, Can I Be Honest, To Be Fair, TBH, TBFH, TBQFH, too many f ing letters.

But if you really want to know what the show is about, just know, I was this close to calling it F Around and Find Out, and I still might do it. Try me. Sorry. All right. So I still have no idea what the podcast is about, but either way, I like, I like this whole family, you know, as a new England Patriots fan, I have to tell you, I've, uh, it, it takes a lot to like a family of the enemy.

That being you got Jason Kelsey, right? He played for the Eagles. Uh, you know, they cost the Patriots the Super Bowl and then you got Travis Kelsey on the Kansas City Chiefs. They're the enemy, but you know, you put them together. What a likable family. I love these people. Will somebody invite me to the Kelsey family Thanksgiving?

And by the way, what, what, what do you think Taylor Swift? Brings to the Thanksgiving table. I bet you she can make any dish. I hear she's a great cook. Uh, if, if, uh, Taylor Swift's listening, I got a great cranberry sauce recipe. Should I share my cranberry sauce recipe with you? I think I've shared it before.

Uh, it's going to, it's going to involve a lot of sugar. I'll tell you that much. Uh, you cannot make a good cranberry sauce without cups and cups of sugar. Well, speaking of sweet things, uh, or maybe sour, I don't know. We've got a. Public display of affection PDA at the Dancing with the Stars finale rehearsals.

That's right. Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko have been seen smooching. Look, I don't like when, when celebrities pull one over on me, it's like either you're dating or you're not, you know, people ask her, she says, no, I'm getting the tattoo removed and then they start smooching again. Now, maybe they're just two good looking people with commitment issues.

Maybe they're dead on the inside. Who really knows what's going on either way. I got to tell you. It's crazy. She was a really good dancer this season, but audiences just didn't like them. And what is that? What is that thing that is kind of undefined? That thing that either is we, we root for someone cause they're authentic or they're too pretty for their own good.

It's almost as though people didn't like her and Gleb because they were too pretty for their own good. Either way, they were kind of like. Shockingly kicked off. What about a month ago now? And now they're seeing, uh, there's a tick tock video, uh, making its rounds by Emma Slater, official again, professional dancer, and the pair of locked lips and hugged at the dancing with the stars finale rehearsal Monday.

Their PDA captured on video. So again, did they dupe us? Were they never? Uh, or did they never break up? Uh, I mean, they would make beautiful children. We know that. Uh, but who knows if they're just having fun? Well, I'll tell you who's not having fun. Conor McGregor. He was found guilty, right? Uh, he was found guilty in the court.

He's going to be appealing a decision where a court in, I believe, Ireland in a civil case, uh, said he, uh, it was guilty of rape. UFC star released another statement of the results of the month long case, admitting he's far from perfect and never should have entertained Nikita's outreaches following a 2018 Christmas party.

Oh, so she, so he's blaming it on her. So here's what he had to say. He actually tweeted this out. People want to hear from me. I needed time. I know I made mistakes. Six years ago, I should have never responded to her outreaches. I should have shut the party down. I should never have stepped out on the woman I love the most in the world.

And that's all on me, by the way, does anyone think this was the only one he cheated with? I mean, this is shocking. She stuck around. Um, he said as much as I regretted everything that happened that night was consensual and all the witnesses present swore to that under oath. I have instructed my legal team to appeal the decision.

I can't go back and I will move forward. I am beyond grateful to my family, friends, and supporters all over the world who have stayed by my side. That's it. No more. Yeah. Getting back to the gym. The fight game awaits and you know, look, it's going to cost him like 260, 000. And I mean, the guy, he, the guy's rich, you know, but at the same time, uh, I don't know the court system there, but he was found guilty.

We'll see what the appeals court has to say. Well, we have a crazy, crazy story. I want to catch you guys up on. I haven't been covering this too closely. Have you heard about this? And it's kind of sad, this Hawaiian woman that was last seen at LAX. She flew to LAX and I guess she missed her, uh, her, uh, flight.

And then her name's Hannah Kobayashi. Well, her father, again, forgive me if I have this wrong, her father heads to Los Angeles to help look for her and then police find his body in a parking lot. Here's the story. Begin tonight with breaking news in the case of a missing woman from Maui who vanished at LAX in a tragic development tonight, even as that woman remains missing.

I'm Joey Rand. I'm Michelle Fisher. There is still no sign of that young lady. But the search has taken a heartbreaking turn for her family. Police say that Hannah Kobayashi's father, Ryan, was found dead early this morning in a parking lot near the airport. He had traveled to L. A. To help search for his missing daughter, the 30 year old woman.

Was on her way from Hawaii to New York City earlier this month when she failed to board her connecting flight. Initially, friends received some strange text messages and Hannah was spotted on LA Metro surveillance video. But her trail has gone cold for the last two weeks. The coroner's office has not released her father's cause of death.

A group aligned with her family says that Ryan may have taken his own life. Family members asking the public to remain focused on finding Hannah. So, okay. I don't want to spread any misinformation. So take what I'm saying with a grain of salt, because there's so much information out there about this. Uh, and there are people that said there's sightings of her at the Grove.

Um, apparently their family released a statement saying that her father did take his own life. Uh, but people are commenting that there's no way he would have killed himself. I mean, Why would he fly across the country looking for his daughter? And then, and then do that. I mean, it doesn't, and again, I don't mean to, you know, I don't mean to make light of this situation or speculate.

Uh, it's just playing out as we speak. Uh, it's taken the internet by storm. Again, the more I looked into it, the less information I could find. I really don't have any updates for you, but it is a story we will be keeping on our radar. So. Hopefully it has some sort of a good ending. Although how the hell did her father die?

Like what the, what's that all about? You know? Uh, so of course the internet's going wild with speculation. Uh, we'll, we'll have to see how it all plays out. Okay. Well, I got some more stories to get to. We've got Mark Cuban explaining how much he, uh, appreciates his time on a shark tank, and I've also got a gender reveal, um, on the Monday night football game.

We'll have those stories for you next. Well, we've got Shark tank's. Mark Cuban on Hailey Welch's PO Podcast Talk Tua, of course. Hailey Welch, the Hawk Tua girl. She got her new podcast and uh, why not have a billionaire on. Here's uh, here's the delightful, uh, uh, the delightful Tennessean. Hailey isn't not get on your nerves.

People like pitching you all the time. You know, it did for a little bit, but I figure it's just like a good problem to have. 'cause I've been on both sides. Mm-Hmm. , you know, I've been where. I've come home and the lights are turned off and my credit cards are cut up and the bill collectors are calling and that sucks just being on this side now.

It's nice. Yeah, it's nice. You know, and I figured, you know, since I've been on both sides, if I can help somebody and give them some feedback, but now, now sometimes they're like, you know, I'm in the john somewhere at a game or whatever. True Mark Cuban. Hey, I got this idea. Like. Wash your hands. Oh my gosh.

You must get pitched so many ideas. Uh, here's an idea for your Mark Cuban, an app that helps you scrub your exes from your social media. It's facial recognition. You don't have to do anything. It just, it just, uh, deletes them. We'll call it the ghost. I don't know. Just a thought. Okay. Billion dollar ideas just coming out of nowhere.

Uh, but yeah, you know, Mark Cuban, he is one of those kind of ethical billionaires, if there is such a thing. I always say there isn't, but at least he's, uh, you know, Taking on big pharma, negotiating prices, you know, if, if anyone's got like issues with the prices they're paying for certain pharmaceuticals, I mean, he's got a company that's literally getting like, Oh, as close to at cost as possible.

So I think he's trying to do some good things and, uh, well, you know, This is a great gender reveal party. I can't believe this hasn't been done before a Baltimore Ravens couple did their gender reveal before the Monday night football game. They handed an envelope to the commentators to have them read live.

Have a listen to this. This is a week about family, by the way, congrats to the growing family. Very exciting news. And this just, this just happened, uh, or organically. There are, there are some Raven fans who are here, uh, it's Texi and Jake rare is their name. They have given us the, the reveal. They don't know what they're having.

They don't know. I've never been this nervous. So he's holding the reveal paper and he shows it to everybody so that they can do the reveal at the same time. Are you guys ready to listen? This is a fun, this is a fun way to do it, right folks? It is. Okay. You ready? He needs a girl. All right. Three markets.

You count us down. One, two, three. IT'S A BOY! Alright, so then they got, you gotta, you guys gotta watch this. So then they got the couple, the Ravens couple, hugging. They got a camera on them, it's a boy, they're, they're cheering. I mean, what a fun way to do it, you know? That's a fun, innovative way. But now that they've done it, everyone's gonna wanna do it that way.

I don't know, if, if anyone wants to, let's do this. If anyone wants To do their gender reveal on the rush hour podcast. Let me know, please let me know. I'll do it on here. We'll do a breaking news segment. We'll get it for you. Uh, I'm here for you folks, whatever you need, let me know. Uh, I don't know if you'll trust me with that info, but that'd be a fun way to do it.

Yeah. Here's what you gotta do. If you're having a baby and you don't know the gender, Reach out to one of your friends or your mom or somebody, have them get in touch with me and, and tell me the gender. So you guys don't know. And I'll do, I'll do a nice reveal and I'll surprise you guys. And then when you're driving down, you know, in your car, you can play that you can play the review, whatever, maybe, maybe no one, maybe no one wants to bless me with that, uh, responsibility.

I can understand if that's not as cool for you. Well, here's a weird story. Somebody at Macy's has been stealing a lot of money. This is reported by Bloomberg business. Macy's is delaying its third quarter earnings due to an investigation. The company saying a single employee responsible for small package delivery expense accounting intentionally made erroneous entries to hide about 132 to $154 million of expenses.

Macy's saying the employee no longer works for the company. What on earth happen? Okay, so look. I don't think anyone should steal, you know, but every once in a while you steal from your employer, right? You steal a stapler. Maybe there's an old laptop no one's using. You get some sticky fingers, a hundred plus million dollars.

At what point were you like, you know what, maybe I should just stop now. Like that's absolutely ridiculous. Unbelievable. I mean, you almost, it's like the, the, I mean, the, the, the aggressive nature I know shoot for the stars. You know me, I'm a big motivational speaker over here, but maybe, maybe that's a little too much.

Uh, well, Thanksgiving right around the corner and boy, is it a time to celebrate. Remember what the holiday is all about. No, not arguing with your QAnon uncle or whoever you're going to have to see at Thanksgiving. It's about getting along. It's being grateful, having gratitude, and thanks for all the great things in our life.

Sadly, the election season's been pretty, pretty ugly, right? And it's divided a lot of people and it's not your job to, uh, Change the way other people think no amount of fighting at the Thanksgiving dinner table is going to, uh, make the world any different, right? You got to get out and vote. There's okay.

You understand. Well, either way, here's Mel Robbins. Uh, she's got a great podcast and she talks about managing your own emotions. We can't control other people. We can only control the way we react to things. Have a listen. When you're an adult, you're not responsible for managing other people's emotions.

You gotta let your mom be disappointed. You gotta let your stepbrother be an instigator on politics. You're not responsible for parenting them. You are responsible for your emotions. You and I have spent years trying to change our family. Managing them, feeling like it's your responsibility for your mom to be happy, for everything to go okay, for the right plates to be put out, for the centerpiece to look this way.

It's not your job. To try to control, fix, or manage someone else's emotions, it's their job. You're going to use the let them theory to stop yourself from managing other people, fixing other people, engaging in the old dynamics. You're then going to say, let me, and you're going to focus on your part in it.

How do I want to show up? What is it that I want to lean into and what am I going to opt out of? And when you start to get very clear about that, you now have a roadmap for what's in your control, which is how you show up, how you engage, what energy you bring, what conversations you initiate, which ones you participate in, which ones you don't.

That is all in your control. And if you just stay laser focused on that, I promise you, no matter how challenging the dynamic is or anxious, you may feel you have the power to influence everything. Wow. Absolutely. Love it. Absolutely. Love it. Look, maybe we can treat this Thanksgiving season the way the way like about giving, right?

It's, so it's a holiday of giving it's giving thanks. Well, let's give. In these interactions with their family by asking a lot of questions, you know, I do this when I'm on stage as a comedian, when I'm doing crowd work, I want to know about the audience. I want to relate to them. I want to, I want to find out what makes them tick.

And yet sometimes when we hang it with family, we resort to the laziest sort of lowest energy version of ourself. I am so guilty of this with my mom. You know, my mom's always been someone where I can sort of complain to. She doesn't need that in her life. You know, I should inspire my family the way I try to inspire strangers.

And yet, like I said, it's just like old habits. They fail hard or they're hard to fail. How does that work? Either way you get what I'm trying to say. Uh, and again, I, not to be too preachy here, but again, here's one, here's another little, another little nudge for you. On how to start the day off. This is from a psychiatrist.

It's his recommendation and how to start the day in what negativity does to the brain. I thought this was whenever I find a nice little, uh, sort of, um, you know, uh, treat for you guys. I'd like to share it. You start the day with today is going to be a great day. I want you to say it out loud, say it to someone.

But when you do that, your subconscious mind Begins to look for what are you looking forward to today? Today is going to be a great day. This is very important because we have a new study coming out on negativity bias. People who are negative have lower activity, especially in the prefrontal cortex. You want to start, Every day today is going to be a great day.

And how do you feel about that? I know not everybody here likes the hokey tokey stuff, but it is going to be a good day. I'll tell you what it's going to be a good day, or it's going to be a bad day in whichever one you choose. You're going to be right. How about that? I got a UFO update, but should we do some Clayton Eckerd stuff?

So this trial, okay, this Clayton Eckerd appeal trial, it's going to go slow. Uh, but what's happening here is, uh, Clayton Eckerd's accuser's lawyer. He's kind of trying to become the star of the show. Now I did a couple hour long live stream over the weekend, but not everyone watches my YouTube channel. So specifically for my podcast audience, if you haven't caught up, he's threatened to to sue Lauren, uh, our friend over there from Florida, the content creator, YouTuber, psych evaluators trying to sue her for what, 125, 000 to 150, 000.

Now sadly, she's just waiting to find out if she's going to get sued or not. I had the same issue with Laura Owens where she did. Tried to sue me. She sent me a receipt of her paying the process server to show up to my house. She had the address. I mean, if that's not, you know, threatening, I don't know what is, but as it turns out, the process server never served me because the judge shut down the restraining order because you can't just sue people like that, or you can't get restraining orders on people you've never met.

Uh, finally, the justice system seems to be onto something either way. What's crazy about this is Lauren's a good person, right? She's a member of our community. Um, she's, she's, uh, just, you know, providing fair commentary on the court case. She's bringing light to a wild situation and as she has put it in her tweets here, uh, she's got a, her Twitter is Lethal Lauren 9 0 4.

She basically has explained, uh, she, she tweeted this not knowing if the knock at my door for the next co couple of weeks is gonna be the pizza guy or a process server. It's insane. And you, to be honest, I. Understand that feeling. I had the same issue when I was being served. And I hate to admit it because some people might think, well, it worked.

The idea in the threat of suing someone is often a damage enough. And people are wondering like, well, what did she do that was wrong? Well, as she's described it, she's essentially being, uh, uh, threatened with lawsuits for disobeying. Laura Owens attorney because her attorney said if anyone decides to share my content, I'm going to see you even though on YouTube It's very very fair game.

So now here's what's gonna happen now. And again, I know this is so Immaterial. I don't know. Is it immaterial to to the case between Clayton Eckert and Laura Owens? But it just shows the collateral damage the wake and then no wake zone Created by Laura and you know what? This isn't it. There's another one.

I'm gonna Give you guys some tea here. But the point is, as far as Lauren's Lauren is concerned, I know not to be complicated. Laura Owens is not Lauren Lawrence, the content creator, lethal Lauren 904 on Twitter. Well, as far as Lauren's concerns, like she's done nothing wrong, but, uh, what an abuse of power for a lawyer to threaten these lawsuits.

Now he's denied threatening me, but anyone who's seen the emails I've, uh, I've unearthed him. He threatened me with a 80 plus million dollar. Lawsuit telling me, you know, I'm going to be broke by this time next year. Cause I'll, he'll have sued me and, uh, Lauren, you know, Laura will be, you know, uh, horsing around on my property with her horses.

I mean, just insane stuff. Well, the, I guess the bar is finalizing whether or not they're going to do anything after judge Julie Mata had a bar complaint against him. I don't think this will be something we figure out before Thanksgiving, but I'm telling you right now, 2024. Will not be going quietly ain't going to happen.

There's going to be something big that comes out, whether it be, uh, the response of the appeal from Clayton Eckerside, I'll have that information when it comes, whether it be possibly a suspension of David Gingras, his law license, or does he decide in the next week to Sue Lauren, a YouTuber, could you imagine a lawyer for Laura Owens suing a YouTuber, you know, it wouldn't be the only time they come after women in this community.

Uh, there was a cryptic post, you know, it actually, okay, I'm going to tell you about this cryptic post, but we're, we're late for a break. Let's take a quick break. We'll be back with the cryptic post right after this. If I've learned anything in the world of Clayton Eckerd v. Laura Owens, it's that anybody who gets involved will possibly get threatened with a lawsuit.

And it appears as though that might be the case. I'm careful with my words here. That might be the case with the studio that. Laura Owens and David Gingras went to, to record their podcast last week. Uh, they were set to release a two hour episode. They took a selfie there. They posted online, all these things.

Well, nobody knows what happened to that episode. It has yet to be aired. They've since made other YouTube videos, but, uh, what could possibly have happened? My guests, can I offer my guests here? And maybe there's some information pushing in this direction. My guess is that Gingras threatened some form of a lawsuit with the podcast studio, and there's more going on.

We don't have all of the information yet, but we, uh, we did see a cryptic post from the podcast company saying like gloves are off or something like that. Well, I think as a podcast community, they have every right as a studio to defend themselves. And, you know, I can understand early on, they might've been afraid that Laura Owens was going to be some big, bad bully, but we've been able to show the podcast studio that it's nothing but a man behind the curtain.

That's who Wizard of Oz is just pulling the levers, threatening people with different lawsuits, trying to, you know, and again, this podcast company, it's female owned, it's another example of Laura Owens. What seems to be coming after, uh, coming after any company that they think wrongs them. Could you imagine a world where you are that much of a victim?

So there's your update on that. Take it as you may. We'll talk more about that on Patreon today, patreon. com slash Dave Neal. But I'm telling you right now. I guarantee there's more to that story knowing that allegedly, I guess Laura was paid what 300, 400 to use that podcast studio. There's a reason why that hasn't been released yet, that video and probably never will be.

And we'll cover that story when it comes. All right, let's go to something light. Uh, if you're an old millennial, like me, you're going to love this story. The Oregon trail. One of the most successful computer games of all time may become a movie. If you need something else to look forward to on the big screen, a nostalgic game from many of our childhoods is being developed into a movie.

Apple is looking to make the Oregon Trail computer game into an action comedy film 50 years after the game's first program was developed. I mean, I love this. Is someone going to get dysentery while they try to forward the river? The Oregon Trail eventually became a computer game staple for children in the 80s and 90s.

Since its creation in 1971, the game has sold tens of millions of copies and is featured in the World Video Game Hall of Fame. I wonder if there's going to be a lot of death in it because I feel like my characters always died fording the river or like of dysentery. She said the same thing I said. You always die fording the river.

Let me tell you, can you, do you understand the stress of being in fourth grade? And my mom's like, what's wrong? And it's like, Oh, my ox died fording a river. And she's like, what? Yeah. Yeah. I got dysentery, but I survived. They were always dying of something. No word yet on a possible release date. Yeah, it was tough.

It was tough back in the day. You know, these video games, we had this one, and then I used to play this ghost video game where you would shine a flashlight on the ghost. I don't remember what, what that one's called, but if you were, if you, if you existed in the early nineties, uh, maybe, uh, maybe you also, uh, partook in the fantastic 32 bit activities of early video games.

Well, uh, what do we want to end this on to be, should we end on that note? You know what? Yeah, I think that's a good note to end on Oregon trail. We'll end on that. Listen, we'll have a lot of content to get to today. Uh, and, uh, I'll be tying up some of the loose ends to these stories. Be kind out there. It's your choice.
